Multicolours

Life's a multicolour. Some might think that the colours of your life depend on your own luck but others might say effort is the key on determining the colours of your life. Life can be simple and also the other way around. Everyone have different opinion about how life should be. If a person desires total comfort his entire life, the way of ‘work’ will determine how comfortable life can be.

How can we define the perfect life one could have? Living large, indefinably rich, wise and knowledgeable, laid-back with no worries or all-round ‘everyone-loves-me’ person?

In my opinion, there are a few colours in life that one ought to have to be truly happy in their life:

The colour of a warm family
The colour of beautiful friendship
The colour of being true in living
The colour of gratitude
The colour of authentic efforts

We are human. We are born with the instinct to be successful. We seek the most comfortable life and we desire a perfect life. However in this world, only a minor will get their full package of desired life to have. Others might gain some of it and there are those with none. Some gain it at the beginning of their life and others work their way to it; work hard or work smart.

There are times that things do not always go as the way we wanted to. There might be challenges in between and behind some dreadful moments, there might be a bliss expected to be found. Often, we encounter incidents such as arguments, mistakes and false acquisition. Just remember a few tips; it might not be effective but it might just work to make life whole lot easier.

Arguments:
When entangled in an argument, it is important to cool down before explanation. The hotter both tempers are, the harder it is to entangle the situation.

Mistakes:
Remember that as we are humans, we do make mistakes. We are not robot. The important thing is that when making a mistake; examine and learn from the mistake.

False Acquisition:
This is where someone is framing you for the thing that you might have not done or stating how wrong it is for you to think that it is right. A person told me a way to settle is to ignore. Ignore any provocation and act of displease from others. The heat will calm itself. I tried this before and pleased to say that it works. Better than to defend myself and waste saliva.

10 Camping Tips

Here are some camping tips that most think is not that important and might forget. My friends and I have some useful tips here:
  1. Always and always pack your stuff in plastic bags so that your stuff are water-proff.
  2. A friend of mine packs her clothes in plastic bags according to days. One plastic bag of clothes for a day. Useful, I might say.
  3. Bring first aid kit. This is a MUST!
  4. When building your tent, make sure to dig small drain around your tent for divert-off in case of heavy downpur.
  5. Build a flying sheet to avoid heavy downpour and moisture.
  6. Avoid using fragrant or scented personal products. Bugs are attracted to it.
  7. Wear light colored long sleeve shirts and pants. Never wear black especially at night if you do not want to have bug bitting you.
  8. Try to bath before sleeeping or at least keep yourself cool. Bugs are attracted to sweat.
  9. Keep your tent zipped at all times to stop bugs getting in.
  10. Pack up food and scraps at night — they attract unwelcome guests like possums and insects.

Omen

Kuching people and those who are in Kuching, Sarawak. Saw this incident? How the sun looked like on the afternoon of July 28th, 2008.

It is not a reflection by the camera. The sun was in the centre and there's a rainbow-like ring appeared surrounding the darker sight of the sky. X-file much?

Instruction:
Remove one question and in your personal question, make it a total of 20 questions, then tag eight people in your list, list them out at the end of this post. Notify them in your chat box he/she has been tagged.

1) At what age do you wish to marry?
26 to 28 years old. Kind of worried about finding the right guy now, seeing this question. "S

2) Where will you go if someone sponsors you a tour ticket?
Duh~ Japan! Lovely sights especially when it is snowing. Otaku paradise! Whoops! Did I said that out loud?

3) What's your favourite thing to do?
Hm.. let's see. Updating myself on friends' whereabout and news. Besides that, I love to seek for an adventure, meeting new friends who are fun to hang out with and a good long sleep. ^^

4) Do you think money can buy happiness?
Yap. Money can buy us happiness. Money is used to buy stuff that will make us happy. I mean like if you will not be happy buying certain stuff, why buy? Even tiny stuff like foods makes us happy. So we buy and eat to make us happy. If we don't, our tummy gets upset and we will be upset as well. Agree?

5) Do you believe you can survive without money?
No way. Who can survive without money, I am sure many will salute you. XP

6) What are you afraid to lose the most?
Family, friends and faith.

7) If you win $1 million, what would you do?
I think I'll be shocked for a few minutes, screaming for a few minutes and calls the security firm to escort me to the bank from where I got the $1 million. Then, hmmm... spend around! What else? Books flight to travel around and shops til I'm satisfied. Oh wait, I will most probably buy a moderate house and furnish it according to my taste first. (nods)

8) Where do you like to go to spend your free time?
Somewhere peaceful and nice. Away from hectic life. Cool and breezy. ^^

9) What is your ambition?
When I was small, my teacher asked me the same question. I answered as a doctor. As I got into Form 4, I realize Biology is not my subject. So.. occupation-wise, I would like to become a public relationship worker in a hotel. Overall-wise, hm.. guess I'll like to travel around with UNICEF and see this world in another perspective.

10) If you meet someone that you love, would you confess to him/her?
Those who knows me really well, hahaha.. you should know the answer la. Those who don't, well, nooo.. I mean I might give him some hints but not confessing to him. If he is dumb enough not to notice, sigh.. what should I do? It is inappropriate for a girl to confess. It's a guy's thing right?

11) Who do you think should make the first move- guy or girl?
I agree with Cindy. Definitely the guy.

12) What do you think is the most important thing in your life?
People, events and things that makes my life worth it. XD

13) If you could undo doing one mistake in the past, what would it be?
Not studying hard during secondary school.

14) If you have a chance, which part of your character would you like to change?
My self confidence.

15) If you are to be stranded on an island, who do you wish to be stranded with you?
My mom?

16) What is the one thing you cannot do but wish you could?
Forgetting about someone.. X(

17) What is the one thing that u want now?
Lays back, enjoy and relax myself.

18) When is the first time you meet the person who tagged you?
I met Cindy at secondary school. We were classmates from Form 1 until Form 3. ^^

19) List 3 good points of the person who tagged you?
Kind! Fun! Charming!

20) Do you have anything to say to him/her?

Wow, blogging my third within an hour? LOL!

How do you know Chinese New Year as a Chinese? Know about Chinese New Year's myth? Or is it real? We were doing public speaking presentation on the last day before the holiday. Connie, a coursemate of mine did about how does Chinese New Year come about. Interesting, I knew the story but her presentation made me recall. So, here's the story. New for those who don't know and refresher for those who does. Enjoy!

The Spring Festival is the grandest festival for the Chinese. The Spring Festival is also called "Nian", but who knows the term, Nian, was once the name of a furious monster that lived on human beings in the ancient time. How the Festival has some relationship with the monster lies in a story about the origin and development of the Spring Festival.

The legend says, long ago, there was a monster called Nian. It was born to be very ugly and ferocious, which looked like either dragons or unicorns. On the first and the 15th of each lunar month, the monster would come down from the mountains to hunt people. So people were very much afraid of it and locked their doors early before sunset on the days of its coming.

There lived an old wise man in a village. He thought it was the panic in people that made the monster so bold and furious. Thus the old man asked people to organize together and to conquer the monster by means of beating drums and gongs, burning bamboo, and lighting fireworks in purpose of making large noises to threaten the hateful monster. When he told people about the idea, everybody agreed on it.

At a moonless and freezing cold night, the monster, Nian, appeared again. The moment it opened its mouth at people, burst out the frightening noises and fire made by people, and wherever the monster went, it was forced to back off by the terrible noises. The monster couldn't stop running until he fell down with exhaustion. Then people jumped up and killed the evil monster. Savage as the monster was, he lost in the end under the efforts from the cooperation of people.

Since then, people have kept the tradition by beating drums and gongs, and lighting fireworks at the coldest day in winter to drive the imagined monsters away and to celebrate the victory over it. Today, Nian refers to the New Year's day or the Spring Festival. People often say Guo Nian, which means 'live the festival.' Furthermore, Nian also means the year. For an example, the Chinese often greet each other by saying Xin Nian Hao, which means Happy New Year! Xin means new and Hao means good.

The Missionaries

I saw them! I saw them today! It's been like three years since last time I saw them. They were passing by Jalan Mendu using their bicycle. Get what I said? Remember the two foreign missionaries that lived in Chonglin Plaza? The ones who like to cycle to everywhere?
